Superpavlova

30.9.12

So, pavlovas are generally defined as containing fruit... which mine does, but it's even better. For those who like pavlova, you know the wondrous experience. Well, I'm here to tell you I've made it better. Yeah. Better. "It's IMPOSSIBLE! Could it really be?!" I hear you thinking. Yes, yes it is. And how? By adding Jizz Brownie and strawberries. You don't need to tell me I'm marvellous.

To create this divine vision:
- 3 egg whites
- 3/4 cup of caster sugar
- 1 batch of Jizz brownies (http://thesweeterside-tss.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/brownies-of-orgasmic-type.html)
- Strawberries, diced
- Whipped cream (I happened to have some whipped double cream left over from when I made ice cream last week, and it was great)

Oven preheated to 140 degrees Celsius.

To make the meringues (forgive me, I didn't get photos for this bit):

Firstly, beat the egg whites in a large bowl with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.

Next, start adding sugar to the egg whites a tablespoonful at a time, beating after each addition, until the egg whites stand in stiff, glossy peaks.

Line a baking tray with baking paper. Next, spoon dessert spoonfuls of meringue onto the baking paper, and use a teaspoon to make a well in the centre, for all your other yummy stuff to sit. Alternatively, you can pipe them for a fancier look, but I haven't much patience for piping.

Put the meringues in the oven and bake for 45 minutes - the should be a very pale cream colour, just a little darker than the brilliant white they were uncooked. Then turn the oven off, and leave them to dry completely for another 45 minutes.

Once you take them out, cool them completely on a wire rack. Then they're ready to go!

What the meringue should look like when you take it out of the oven.

First, line the base of your little well with the diced strawberries. These end up as a lovely fresh surprise!

Dollop a teaspoon of whipped cream to cover up the strawberries..

And then add a slice of brownie on top! Mm-mm, these are time consuming but simple to make, and they'll impress everyone! The little strawberry surprise is my favourite bit, as it adds a burst of fresh flavour. However, if you're not a fan of strawberries, experiment! Hope you enjoy :)
